Dewormers protect your pet against intestinal worms. Worms can cause a lot of damage, so protection is vital, not only for your canine or feline companion but to protect anyone that spends time with your dog or cat—including people, since certain types of worms can be transmitted from animal to human.

How do intestinal worms affect my pet?

It might take a while for you to notice any signs that your pet has intestinal worms. When the worms multiply and begin to take over the digestive system, your pet will usually have symptoms such as diarrhea, constipation, vomiting and abdominal pain. Left untreated, the symptoms will get worse and could put your pet’s life in danger.

How do dewormers work?

Using a dewormer on your pet will eliminate the worms before they have time to reproduce. We recommend administering a preventative deworming treatment two to four times per year, depending on your pet’s lifestyle and based on your vet’s recommendations.

For puppies and kittens, it’s important to do a deworming treatment at a young age, since they are at risk of quick onset of symptoms. Their digestive system is still in its early stages, so the presence of worms can affect their overall growth and development.
